Chateau de Bell Brewhouse

Okay people, it’s time to reveal a secret project I have been working on…homebrewing. I have been wanting to brew my own beer for some time now and finally made it happen this semester. Let me tell you, it is addicting and I haven’t even drank my precious brew yet. Anyways, I thought I would give a picture tour of the process to get some other people inspired to homebrew so I can steal their beer.

Steeping the grains. The beginning of a great brew.

Check out that beautiful wort...or what beer is called before it has the capability to get you ferschnickled. It hangs out in this bucket (primary fermenter) for 1-2 weeks.

Secondary fermentation...the patience tester. The beer goes into this carboy for about two weeks.

Two batches going at once. One in the plastic carboy on the right and one cooking on the stove on the left.

The almost finished product. After bottling, it still takes between 2-4 weeks for the beer to "finish".

Also, Kali told me that I needed to decorate for fall otherwise the neighbors would think we are not a festive family. So I did…

Happy Fall Ya'll

  1. You are a mess, Mr. Bell! I am dying laughing at that cute little pumpkin! I guess the rest of decorations will hibernate for another year! I’m sure they are fine with that!

  2. Yay! You and Zeb will have to trade beers! His last batch is all gone but he has another one coming! Also love the fall decoration! Your about as festive as Zeb! 😉
